Candidate Biography

Dashe Videira is a dedicated candidate for State Senate, inspired by her commitment to unity, opportunity, and accountability. As a devoted wife and mother of four, she recognizes the challenges families face today and is determined to create a brighter future for our children. Her diverse heritage—her father being a first-generation American of Puerto Rican and Costa Rican descent and her mother a descendant of Portuguese settlers in Provincetown, MA—shapes her deep understanding of the American Dream.

Dashe's family overcame significant challenges to build a successful life in Foxboro, inspiring her to make a difference in her community. As the first in her family to attend college, she earned her degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State College and a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Rockies. With a background in Human Resource Management, she is committed to fostering safe and nurturing environments that support families' spiritual, emotional, and physical growth.

Since 2010, Dashe has called Franklin home, where she has taken on leadership roles, including chairing the Republican Town Committee. Her successful VoteNO Override campaign mobilized the community to save taxpayers $7 million while achieving an unprecedented 45.5% voter turnout. Her influence extends beyond Franklin, as neighboring towns have sought her expertise to address similar override challenges, showcasing her as a regional leader in tackling complex issues.

In addition to her local efforts, Dashe is actively involved in nonprofits such as Community Matters and the Maximum Impact Foundation, which aim to foster community engagement and support local trades and businesses. She also serves the Archdiocese of Boston in the Secretariat for Evangelization and Discipleship, working in the Multicultural Ministry to promote unity, love, and solidarity in alignment with Gospel values.

Dashe’s grassroots write-in campaign for State Senate against incumbent Senator Becca Rausch, launched with less than two weeks before the primaries, gathered nearly 1,100 votes—demonstrating her ability to connect with voters and her dedication to representing their needs. This effort secured her a spot on the ballot solely through word of mouth.

Through conversations with thousands of people in the district, Dashe has formed her campaign around three key pillars:

  • Unity: Bridging divides to foster a community that works together for the common good.
  • Accountability: Ensuring transparency in government, where decisions reflect the best interests of the people.
  • Opportunity: Creating pathways for success by supporting local businesses and enhancing educational opportunities.

Dashe is deeply attuned to the pressing issues of rising costs, education challenges, and the need for greater transparency and accountability in government. She is committed to uniting the community, championing shared values, and advocating for a future where families and individuals can thrive, seeking common ground rather than differences.

Her campaign slogan, #BETHECHANGE, reflects her belief in empowering individuals to shape their communities and ensuring their voices are heard.

In her spare time, Dashe loves to spend time with her family (including her cat Frank), especially outdoors in nature. She enjoys teaching early-morning Barre classes and reading about the Founding Fathers, spirituality, and environmental protection. As she embarks on her journey to represent the Norfolk, Worcester, and Middlesex District, Dashe Videira is dedicated to uniting the community and advocating for a future where all families and individuals can thrive, approaching her role with compassion and understanding.
